  4. This is a lightly edited capture of an informal chat (live
  5. conference) held on The Portal System on the evening of
  6. Sunday, 1 May 1994.
  7.  
  8. The main topic of conversation as you might expect was the
  9. impending demise of Commodore.
  10.  
  11. Dave Haynie, one of the 22 remaining Commodore West Chester
  12. employees (as of this writing) and long-time Engineer at
  13. that facility was our guest. We chose to leave it an open
  14. chat this time rather than stifle the participants by going
  15. formal and taking questions in order, as we usually do with
  16. a special guest such as Dave.

  18. I've edited out a lot of fluff and kept all of Dave's
  19. comments intact. It may be hard to follow for some of you
  20. not used to this kind of capture. If you want to see just
  21. what Dave had to say, load this text into an editor and
  22. search repeatedly for the word "hazy".

  24. Dave appears under his usual pseudonym of "Hazy". I have
  25. also kept intact the list of participants in this chat
  26. and have made a few comments after the names of those 
  27. who should be familiar to the Amiga community but may
  28. not be immediately recognizeable due to their chat
  29. "handles" or Portal pseudonyms.     Many more people than are
  30. listed below came and went during the course of the four
  31. hours, about 80, so if you see people talking below whose names do
  32. not appear in this list, that's why.

  38. - call 1-408-973-9111 by voice or
  39. - telnet to portal.com and enter "online" and then "new" at the
  40.   name prompt or
  41. - enter "c portal" at any Sprintnet prompt, then enter "online"
  42.   at the service selector and "new" at the name prompt.
